If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.

If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.

If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.

If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.

If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.

If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.

If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.

If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.

If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.

If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.

If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.

If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.

If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.

If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.

If children live with fairness, they learn justice.

If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.

If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.

If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place to live in.

THE DOLL MAKER

The Doll maker

Once upon a time in a far-away place lived a kindly old doll maker. He had spent his goodly long life creating dolls of all sorts, making all the little girls in the world happy.

He had kept up in the trends of the world and made dolls that say “mama”, that cry, that stand up by them selves, and that even wink at you. But our doll maker was very wise. He knew that his time for special contribution was growing short. So, with special resolve in his heart, he made his most beautiful creation. He gave her brown curls, which he personally felt had the most beauty in their long tresses. He gave her the bluest of blue eyes, into which he put the promises of eternity and into which one could gaze forever.

This special doll was given long legs with which she could dance, run and play, and occasionally even walk a second mile. He gave her beautiful hands to work and serve with and teach all the other dolls. Her fingers were long and slender. With these, the old man hoped she would comfort those around her. She had a beautiful face and he planned this so that she could see the beauty in others. He dressed her in a gown as shimmery as gossamer, and on the last day when she was completed, he lifted her up with great care and set her gently in front of a large mirror.

“What do you think little doll?” he asked “Are you not the most beautiful doll in the world?” The doll looked through her long lashes full of excited anticipation. Suddenly her pretty face clouded up and then stormed over. “Oh doll maker, I hate brown hair and I have always longed for green eyes. These are not the colors I’d have chosen for myself. And look how gangly and long my legs are! How large my feet are! How unfashionable they will seem to the world. My gown is really very ordinary. Oh doll maker, I am not a beautiful doll at all!”

THE BURNING HUT

The Burning Hut

The only survivor of a ship wreck was washed up

on a small, un-inhabited island. He prayed feverishly

to The Almighty to save him, & every day he scanned
the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut

out of driftwood of ship to protect him from the elements,

& to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived

home & found his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up

to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost.

He was stunned with grief & anger. “ohhh……… Almighty, how

Could you do this to me……!” he cried a lot whole night &

with shivering went to sleep below the open sky.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the

sound of a ship that was approaching the island.

It had come to rescue him.

“How did you know I was here?” asked the weary man

of his rescuers.
“We saw your smoke signal,” they replied.

Moral of the story :
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad.

But we shouldn’t lose heart, because The Almighty is at work in

our lives, even in the midst of pain & suffering…………

Remember, next time when your little hut is burning

to the ground—-it just may be a smoke signal…..,

that summons the grace of The Almighty……

The most important thing in any prayer is not –

what we say to The Amighty……..,but what The Almighty replies to us.

We are about to pray & then hurry up to go away..

Without giving HIM, chance to answer our queries…….

So don’t loose Hope…..Have Faith in The Almighty…..

& Be Positive always, Just try & work hard,

you will definitely succeed in making……

your dreams come true one day.

JOURNEY OF LIFE

Here is an interesting story which we can relate in our daily lives.

A must read … please take time and read it ….. once.

A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.

Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, “Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself.”

The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition.

We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.

One day when we look back , we will realize that we don’t really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition.

Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life.

Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time.

You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts.

Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.

So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature.

Life is fragile,

Life is short.

Do not take Life for granted.

Live a balanced life style and enjoy Life to its fullest before it is too late.

DON'T WE ALL

I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was waiting for my friend to get out of work.
Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would consider a bum.
From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no money. There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don’t want to be bothered. This was one of those “don’t want to be bothered times.”
“I hope he doesn’t ask me for any money,” I thought.
He didn’t.
He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn’t look like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.
After a few minutes he spoke.
“That’s a very pretty car,” he said.
He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly beard kept more than his face warm.
I said, “thanks,” and continued wiping off my car.

He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never came.
As the silence between us widened something inside said, “ask him if he needs any help.” I was sure that he would say “yes” but I held true to the inner voice.
“Do you need any help?” I asked.
He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget.
We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higher learning and accomplishments.

I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.
“Don’t we all?” he said.

I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun.
Don’t we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I needed help. I reached in my purse and gave him not only enough for bus fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those three little words still ring true. No matter how much you have, no matter how much you have accomplished, you need help too. No matter how little you
have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or a place to sleep, you can give help.

Even if it’s just a compliment, you can give that.
You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all.
They are waiting on you to give them what they don’t have. A different perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see.
Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe he was more than that.

Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and wise,

Maybe God looked down, called an Angel, dressed him like a bum, then said, “go to that lady cleaning the car, that lady needs help.”
Don’t we all?

THINK TWICE BEFORE JUDGING OTHERS

Think twice before we judge others

One night there was a woman at the airport who had to wait for several hours before catching her next flight. While she waited she bought a book and a pack of biscuits to spend the time. She looked for a place to sit and wait.

She was deep into her book, when suddenly she realized that there was a young man sitting next to her who was stretching his hand and, with no concern whatsoever, started grabbing the pack of cookies lying between them. He started to eat them one by one.

Not wanting to make a fuss about it, she decided to ignore him. The woman, slightly bothered, ate the cookies and watched the clock, while the young and shameless thief of biscuits was also finishing them. The woman started to get really angry at this point and thought “If I wasn’t such a good and educated person, I would have given this daring man a black eye by now. “Every time she ate a biscuit, he had one too.

The dialogue between their eyes continued and when only one biscuit was left, she wondered what was he going to do. Softly and with a nervous smile, the young man grabbed the last biscuit and broke it in two. He offered one half to the woman while he ate the other half. Briskly she took the biscuit and thought, “What an insolent man! How uneducated! He didn’t even thank me!” She had never met anybody so fresh and sighed relieved to hear her flight announced.

She grabbed her bags and went towards the boarding gate refusing to look back to where that insolent thief was seated. After boarding the plane and nicely seated, she looked for her book which was nearly finished by now.

While looking into her bag she was totally surprised to find her pack of biscuits safely intact. If my biscuits are here, she thought feeling terrible, those others were his and he tried to share them with me. Too late to apologize to the young man, she realized with pain, that it was she who had been insolent, uneducated and a thief, and not him.

How many times in our lives, had we known with certainty that something happened in a certain way, only to discover later that it wasn’t true? How many times has our lack of trust within us made us judge other people unfairly with our conceited ideas, often far away from reality. That is why we have to think twice before we judge others. Let’s always give others the benefit of the doubt before we think badly of them.

Unless and until, one realizes about the fact, no one will change his or
her view of thinking in spite of lot of external factors.

Who was he?

He was a simple, uneducated, country boy who refused to allow his uncongenial circumstances stop him. He refused to be a victim. He refused to accept failure. He refused to listen to people who told him he was crazy. He refused to stay down when he felt like nothing was going his way.

Simply put, he picked himself up no matter what and kept on going after his dream.

He educated himself and did whatever it took to keep moving in the direction of his passions.

If you reflect back on your life, you can find patterns of the times you grew the most.

Many of those times were probably a result of some kind of previous ‘failure,’ maybe even a series of them.

Remember: children don’t fail when they are learning to walk. They fall down over and over again. It is the falling that teaches them and strengthens them.

Each failure is a learning experience. And the faster people pick themselves up, reflect on the past occurrence and go again, the faster they can achieve their goals and dreams.

So with this in mind, choose the one thing that may not be going exactly as you wish right now and do one thing to move you closer to achieving the result you want. And remember, life is about learning and growing.
